McKinney Endodontics

This is a list of what to do and to expect prior to endodontic therapy. These guidelines will help to give you a basic understanding. Of course all treatment is individual and so is every patient. If you have a specific question or concern you may contact us directly.

  • Procedures will be performed using local anesthesia.
  • Please eat a full breakfast or lunch as applicable
  • If you have been advised by your physician or dentist to use antibiotic premedication because of mitral valve prolapse (MVP), heart murmur, hip knee, cardiac, or other prosthesis, or if you have rheumatic heart disease, please make sure you take the appropriate antibiotic on the day of your appointment. If there is any question, please reach us prior your appointment
  • If you can take ibuprofen (Advil) or naproxen sodium (Aleve), it will help in reducing inflammation when taken pr-operatively. We recommend 2 tablets of either medication 2-4 hours before treatment.
  • There are usually no restrictions after procedures concerning driving or returning to work
